Kim Kardashian West is not entering law school despite her husband Kanye's declaration, a representative for the star has confirmed.

During an interview on the red carpet at the Ralph Lauren New York Fashion Week show on Friday night, Kim's rapper spouse shared the surprising news, telling U.S. TV show Extra: "My wife is in law school now, and it's extremely serious to us."

However, on Monday, Kim's representative shot down Kanye's exuberant claim, clarifying to editors at Page Six that the reality star is not actually in school, but is just deeply involved in prison reform - likening her work to being a student.

The rapper's comments came after the mother-of-three made headlines in recent months with her successful pardon of convicted great-grandmother Alice Marie Johnson. She is now working on freeing Chris Young, who was sentenced to life in prison for drug possession after being arrested in 2010.

The "Gold Digger" rapper has previously expressed his pride in his wife for her activism.

“I love it, I love it,” the 41-year-old rapper told Extra. “That’s all we focus on, helping people that don’t have a voice, breaking down the class system.”

Kim, whose late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., was a top attorney who defended O.J. Simpson in his infamous murder trial in the 1990s, didn't graduate from college, only attending for a short period, but she did express in an interview with Wonderland that she may one day pick up the legal baton if her popularity wanes.

“If things slow down and I had time, I really wanna go to law school – just something I can do in my older age," she said in 2016. And last year, she shared on Snapchat that her own attorney, Mike Kump, believes she has what it takes to be a lawyer.

“You’ve got the perfect instincts, you’ve got great judgment, and you know how to present your position in the most articulate manner and convince people of your point of view,” Kump told her, before asking: “Will you please join my law firm?”
